What you need to know is that he is tremendously impressed with the book and feels that I have been getting excellent advice. He loves the cover, says it is a wonderful hook, feels the metaphor is right on and absolutely loves the title. Anyway, I wanted you to hear how impressed he is with Advantage. As a successful professional speaker and consultant with a national following, the ability to have first-quality books printed and delivered just in time is an incredible benefit. In the past, if an author like myself wished to self-publish in order to realize greater profitability and intellectual control of their work, then, they would have no choice but to store cases of books stacked in every closet of their home, in their office, rental storage units or their garage. Discovering Your Dawn

So, while having a book to help me promote my expertise and my business is important, I think the bigger picture of being an author is even more important to me.  I have you and your wonderful staff to thank for helping me achieve that.  

So many people at Advantage have helped make this happen, but I want to thank one person in particular.  George Stevens has been absolutely wonderful to work with.  He has been so patient in his work with me.  He has listened to me about my vague, unformed thoughts and brought a dream to life.  I had no idea what the cover of my book should look like.  I wanted something that was mainstream business, but I also wanted to tastefully capture the ancientness of the American Indian Philosophy that was the foundation for the book.  He came up with a cover that I could have never imagined, but was right on target for what I wanted.  He worked so tirelessly to help with the layout of the book, and he captured all the details and met all my concerns.  I can’t thank George enough for his wonderful work.  

I hope that this book is the first of many that I will be publishing with Advantage Media.  I am already beginning the initial work on my next book, and I hope to have a manuscript ready over the next year. 

Thank you again, and I am very happy that I am now a part of the Advantage Family as a published author.  As you celebrate your 4th Birthday for Advantage, I wish you many, many more, as Ann and I look forward to having a very long and successful relationship with you and your great staff.

Leadership Lessons from the Medicine Wheel

I returned yesterday after a most enjoyable and informative trip to Charleston.  The Advantage team could not have been more welcoming or instructive.  I learned a great deal about the different aspects of publishing, marketing and the varied avenues of Internet's use for publicizing the book.

Each Advantage staff member seems dedicated to their particular part in the company - an impressive group of people who work well together. They were more than generous with their time, particularly Greg (I really liked him and respect his marketing talents - I think he could sell ice to Eskimos) and Michelle.  They were all working hard.  Seth the tech head is a delight - a geek at heart he also helped me to understand his mysterious world without making me feel like an a complete idiot.

The trip convinced me that I had done the right thing by signing with Advantage.  Each person seemed genuinely interested in playing their particular role in the publication and marketing of my book.  They have been impressive in their choice of people who obviously work well together.

You had mentioned Amy and her talent.  She listened closely and took extensive notes on my description of the content of the book.  They took copies of the discs I left and I feel confident that Amy will produce something that will please me.  Kim also is a warm and interested individual with whom I would have a great deal of trust and confidence. 

Charleston itself was a pleasure to visit.  The hotel was a three minute walk from the Advantage office and similarly an array of wonderful restaurants and the weather was in the low 70s.  I can understand why they enjoy working there.

Thank you - I wouldn't have known about Advantage without you.  I feel good about the publication and the possibilities in a way that I haven't previously. When I question the viability of the book - it is my issue certainly not yours.  Without you it wouldn't have been written - both of us know that.
